PAGE 3 -THE NEWS-DEMOCRAT, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2012 Laura Dell Hill Burns Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 in the McEwen chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home for Laura Dell Hill Burns of Mt. Juliet. Mrs. Bums, age 94, passed away Nov. 30. Rev. Jimmy Scott Barrett officiated the services with interment in Gorman Cemetery. Luff Bowen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Burns was born April 6, 1918 in Murfreesboro. She was a retired machine operator for Sunshine Hosiery Mill in Murfreesboro and a member of First Baptist Church in McEwen. Mrs. Burns was the daughter of the late Ben F. Hill and Cora Haney Hill. She was married to the late Robert Lee Bums. Survivors include one daughter, Jean Robertson (John) of Mt. Juliet; three sisters, Virginia Frizzell of Murfreesboro, Jessie Barrett of Murfreesboro and Kate Bartel of Portland; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Nancy Jeap Kelley smith Odom Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home for Nancy Jean Kelley Smith Odom of Hermitage, formerly of Dickson. Mrs. Odom, age 63, passed away Nov. 28. Bro. Jerry Jones officiated the service with interment in Dickson Union Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home. Mrs. Odom was born in Washington, D.C. She graduated from the former Dickson High School in 1967. She formerly worked for Tennsco Corporation and later moved to the Nashville area and last worked as a credit manager for Cummins Diesel and Automotive. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Madison. Preceding her in death were her father, Clarence Kelley, Jr.; her parents, Avis and Troy E. Simmons; and a brother, Clarence J. Kelley, III. Survivors include two daughters, Anissa Smith and Kathleen Smith, both of Dickson; brothers, Paul E. Kelley of Ft. Lauderdale,Fla.andDavid T. Simmons of Dickson; one sister, Carolyn Simmons McAllister of Clarksburg, Md.; and two grandchildren, Connor J. Gopar and Isabella Jean Gopar. Mrs. Coke, age 92, passed away Nov. 30. PastorDonnaParramore officiated the service with burial in Ebenzer Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Luff Bowen Funeral Home. Mrs. Coke was born March 22, 1920 in Hustburg. She was a retired secretary for Upper Room. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Hustburg Chapter #153. Mrs. Coke was the daughter of the late James Alfred Fortner and Mary Belle "Mamie" Haygood Fortner. She was married to the late Howard Jackson Coke. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, were three brothers, James Fortner, Johnny Fortner, Sr., and Walter Fortner and two sisters, Margaret Fortner Plant and Dorothy Fortner Hopper. Survivors include one sister, Mary Elizabeth Fortner of New Ruth Coleman Feight Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 in the McEwen chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home for Ruth Coleman Feight of McEwen. Mrs. Feight, age 82, passed away Nov. 30. Rev. Maurice , Moore officiated the service with interment in Hurricane Chapel Cemetery. Luff Bowen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Feight was born March 21, 1930 in McEwen. She was a homemaker and a member of McEwen United Methodist Church. Mrs. Feight was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Coleman and Minnie Holland Coleman. She was married to the late Edward Feight. Survivors include one son, Gary Feight of McEwen; one daughter, Connie F. Goff (Gregory) of Dickson; one sister, Evon Berryman of Dickson; two grandchildren, Stephanie Watson (Dan) and Jonathan Goff; and two great grandchildren, Aaron Watson and Brianna Watson. Jo Nell Sisk West Graveside services were held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Crofton, Ky. for Jo Nell Sisk West of Paducah, Ky. Mrs. West, age 76, Stephen Christopher GouM Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Pace- Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas for Stephen Christopher Gould of Huntsville, Texas. Mr. Gould, age 42, passed away Nov. 18. Mr. Gould was born in Groton, Conn. on July 20, 1970 to parents Herbert and Susan Gould. Mr. Gould was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Air Force, served from 1988-1992. He was a graduate of Houston County High School of Erin, Tennessee. He was a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, and steadfast friend; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kimberly Annette Gould; sons Murray Gould and Colin Gould; brother Thomas Gould and wife Misty; sisters Cathy Deason and husband Shay, and Maryanna Powell and husband Lance; nieces and nephews Brittany Ross and husband Andy, Ella Gould, Zach Deason, Jacob Gould, Levi Jefferson and Makayla Jefferson; great- nieces Briley Ross and Jaycey Ross; mother- Johnsonville; one sister- passed away Nov. 30. in-law Barbara Franklin in-law, Evelyn Fortner of Re! Danny R. Washburn Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Waverly for Danny R. Washburn. Mr. Washburn, age 63, passed away Dec. 1. Bro. Blake Carroll officiated the service. Arrangements were under the direction of Bartlett Funeral Home. Mr. Washburn was a chauffeur for Tennessee Limo Service. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Armstrong Washburn; sons, Eric Washburn and Matthew Washburn, both of Memphis and David Washburn of Jackson; sisters, Diann Rinks of Milan and Valline Loucks of Marion, Ill. and aunt, Mina Sue McClain of Milan. Mrs. West was born August 29, 1936 in Colbert County, Ala. She was a member of Reidland Methodist Church in Paducah, Ky. and a member of the Western Kentucky Basket Weavers Association. Mrs. West was the daughter of the late Carl and Ernestine Bumpus Fisk. She was married to James T. West. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Jane Sisk Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her daughters, Sara Jo West and Rae Nell West, both of Paducah, Ky.; and sisters, Sue Sisk Craver (Frank) of Waverly, Donna Sisk of Madisonville, Ky. and Libby Sisk Pearl (Benny) of Warner Robins, Ga.
