OBITUARIES ]1 John B. Luther John Howard Mangrum Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 in the McEwen Chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home for John B. Luther Mangrum of McEwen. Mr. Mangrum, age 98, passed away Sept. 20. Bro. Reece Cochran and Rev. David Deav- ers officiated the service with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Luff Bowen Funeral Home was in charge of the ar- rangements. Mr. Mangrum was born May 17, 1913 in Frank- lin. He was a farmer and attended Oak Grove Bap- tist Church. Mr. Mangrum was the son of the late Ferdinand 'Ferd' and Cilicia Sulli- van 'Mammy' Mangrum. He was marred to the late Laura May Daugherty Mangrum. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, son, Gerald Mangrum and granddaughter, Patri- cia Ann Smith. Survivors include one son, Randal F. Mangrum of McEwen; one daugh- ter, Gloria Smith (Bill) of McEwen; daughter-in- law, Margaret Mangrum of McEwen; six grand- children; five great grand- children; and two great, great grandchildren. John Briggs Wyatt, Jr. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 in the Waverly Cha- pel of Luff Bowen Funer- al Home for John Briggs Wyatt, Jr. of Murfrees- boro. Mr. Wyatt, age 72, passed away Sept. 23. Bro. Joe James offi- ciated the service with burial in Ebenezer Ceme- tery. Luff Bowen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Wyatt was born March 28, 1939 in Waverly. He was a re- tired tool and dye maker for General Motors Cor- poration in Spring Hill. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Mr. Wyatt was the son of the late John Bfiggs 'Booger' Wyatt, Sr. and Mildred Louise Mallard Wyatt. He was married to Shirley Christine Turner Wyatt of Murfreesboro. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Tammy Hell- man and Kim Wyatt Hil- liker (Robert), both of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; and two grandchildren, James Madajski and Brittany Christine Wyatt Hilliker. Rawlings Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 in the Waverly Cha- pel of Luff Bowen Funer- al Home for John How- ard Rawlings of New Johnsonville. Mr. Rawlings, age 72, passed away Sept. 21. Bro. James Hedge of- ficiated the service. Ar- rangements were under the direction of Luff Bowen Funeral Home. Mr. Rawlings was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Waverly. He was a mem- ber O f Waverly First Bap- tist Church. John loved farming and raising cattle and fishing. He was a former employee of E.I. DuPont and the owner of Rawlings Dine and Dance and Commercial Fishing, Rawlings Ma- fine, Montana's and Four Seasons Restaurant. He was a Kentucky Lake Fishing Guide. John also holds two football re- cords at Waverly Central High School. Mr. Rawlings was the son of the late Hershell S. Rawlings and Hilda Hall- ie Summers Rawlings. Preceding him in death were his parents; broth- ers, Donald Rawlings and Phillip Rawlings; and sis- ter, Carolyn June Rawl- ings.
